Sometimes I wish that God and destiny and all that jazz really existed... Simply because it would mean that I didn't have to rely on myself and all of my shortcomings so much.

Wouldn't it be great to live in a world where everything is preordained and there is only one path you will follow no matter what you do? Of course, that has it's drawbacks... But just think: a world where my introverted nature and shyness actually is how I am for a reason and is part of my path through life towards destiny. Sounds great... except for one thing. I would be nothing more than a pawn in the most elaborate game of chess ever devised.

Perhaps it's better the way it is: I choose my own path through life. I overcome the obstacles that I place in front of myself, as well as those placed by others. I decide how to handle situations. And I make my own destiny in a constantly zigzagging and backtracking path that may be so complex that no map could show its minutest detail.

Besides, would you rather walk along the straight path laid out for you through the woods, or leave the path and wander as you please and find your own unique way to the end?
